Bitcoin is the first decentralised peer to peer cryptocurrency invented by alias Nakamoto Satoshi,  a software developer in 2008 and released it open public in 2009, and this is when the first bitcoin transaction took place.

It's independent on government or central authority or banks. No one has control over bitcoin.

It's real money for the people not government .

Since 2009, there has been increasingly mass adoption of bitcoin as the fastest,  easiest way at a very low cost transaction charges compared to other forms of money transfers like western union,  money gram,  xpress money etc.

Bitcoin protects individuals from the devastating institutionalised crimes of the state  by allowing them to avoid central banks and retain the private data that constitutes power over their lives.

Satoshi knew that  banks and fiat were massive failure or far worse.  Under the guise  of promoting financial stability and protection,  they looted wealth of individuals  through mechanism such as Inflation and transfered it to those in authority.

Equally to lose one's life savings through inflation, confiscation,  mismanagement  and other criminal acts by central banks can be devastating.  Restitution maybe more easily made after all a dollar is  dollar but the return of funds is often unlikely.
